Sir David Attenborough (the vessel, not the guy) visits
A view of Palmer Station from the vessel's webcam as it slowly backs down toward the station
A diverse late shipping season continues. After the Nathaniel B. Palmer showed up from Lyttelton 9-12 May to pick up hazardous waste (perhaps its last call at Palmer, as the next NSF budget proposes taking it off rent), the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) research vessel Sir David Attenborough stopped at Palmer for about 24 hours over 30-31 May while en route to Rothera. The webcam photo above is from this page...the photo is its best view of the station.

A view of Sir David Attenborough from the shore. This photo by winter site manager Randal Rhodes was shared by Terri Edillon, NSF lead communications specialist.
One more interesting photo--a view of the station from the vessel's observation deck. This photo by Michael Meredith, Joint Director, UK Science Parthership/Senior Scientist, BAS.
